🎯 8 Ways You Can Benefit Using Your Peppermint Oil
Email Template - Stationary

Hi FIRST NAME,

I want to help you dive into the individual oils over the next few weeks.

I'll start off with your Peppermint Vitality™. In my opinion, peppermint oil is one of the most versatile essential oils you can keep on hand. It has so many uses, both in supporting your good health and around your home.

In today's email, I'm going to give you a few ideas to start using your Peppermint Vitality™ essential oil internally and around your home too.

This little jewel is a popular beginner oil. The scent invigorates your mind and senses while inspiring a sense of peace. Who doesn't need a boost of positivity?

CAUTION: This is considered a “hot” oil, so you want to use caution when applying it topically. When you first start using it, you might want to dilute it. If you get it on your skin and the “icy/hot” feeling is too intense, do NOT use water. Try using one of your carrier oils to dilute the area. Young Living's V-6 oil is perfect, but you can also use coconut oil, almond oil, etc. Even if all you have on hand is vegetable oil, that will get the job done.

Before we get too far, I want to clarify the two different bottles of peppermint oil that Young Living sells:

  • Peppermint Vitality™ Seed to Seal® Premium Essential Oil Supplement
  • Peppermint Seed to Seal® Premium Essential Oil

The classic oils and the corresponding bottles of Vitality oils contain the very same oils. However, Vitality oils are labeled for dietary use, and the classic essential oils are labeled for topical and aromatic use. The white-labeled bottles are the “Vitality” oil supplement.

Your kit came with the Peppermint Vitality™ oil.

TRY THIS FIRST: Open your bottle and take a whiff. Doesn't it smell amazing?

NOW TRY THIS: Go ahead and put one drop in your palm and rub your palms together. Now cup your hands over your mouth and nose, and slowly breathe in the aroma, using caution to NOT touch your face.

After you're finished, you may find you want to keep putting your cupped hands up and breathing it in, and that is just fine.

How do you feel after you do this? Try this routine again when that 2-3 p.m. slump hits and see how you feel in that final hour!

Sure, this is only peppermint, but I assure you that this essential oil is far more valuable than you might have thought.

Put a bit in a sample bottle...

... and toss in your bag and keep it close. Luckily Young Living offers little 2 ml essential oil sample bottles that are pretty inexpensive. Not only are they great for taking a few oils in your bag, but they are also a convenient way to share essential oil samples with friends and family. If you'd like help getting some of these, please let me know.

Internally

  • Put a drop of Peppermint Vitality on your finger and press it to the roof of your mouth.
  • Add Peppermint Vitality to your daily dietary supplements as overall support for a healthy digestive system.* Simply add 1–2 drops in a vegetarian gel capsule and take daily or as needed.
  • Include a drop of Peppermint Vitality in a tall glass of cool water for a refreshing start to your morning.
  • Blend with your pre-workout drink for an energizing start, or wind down after your workout with a mint-infused chocolate or vanilla protein shake.

Pests

  • Ants and spiders don't like peppermint. Try making a barrier of peppermint oil. Put a few drops of peppermint on a cotton ball or in a small glass spray bottle, then spray or wipe around the areas where they might enter your home, like doorways or windows.
  • Mice don't like peppermint. Try putting peppermint oil on cotton balls, then leave cottontails in strategic areas around your house to keep rodents at bay.

Muscles

  • After a challenging workout, for tired joints or muscles, dilute a few drops and use it in a refreshing post-workout massage.
  • Add a few drops of peppermint oil into a foot bath with Epsom salts to help relax tired, worn feet.

Uplifting Your Day

  • Peppermint is in the same family as both lavender and rosemary. Diffuse the oils of these potent botanicals together for a fresh aroma that uplifts the spirit.
  • When your day is dragging––through a workout, class, or tough day at work––enjoy some peppermint oil benefits by applying it to your head and neck.

Personal Care

  • Add Peppermint and Eucalyptus Radiata to hot bath water and enjoy the relaxing, invigorating scent and aromatic steam.

Cooling Spray
DIY Project

I know we just called Peppermint a
hot oil, but it actually cools you off!

Just a few drops rubbed on the back of your neck, and the base of your spine could give you instant relief from excessive heat.

Create this “cooling spray” and carry it in your bag for a quick spritz of coolness during the summer months.

  1. Drip 3-5 drops of Young Living Peppermint essential oil in a 2 oz. spray bottle.
  2. Fill the bottle with water.
  3. Shake well, spritz on your chest, arms, feet, or neck and feel the cooling sensation!

When used topically, it creates a cool, tingling sensation on the skin, great for making a sports massage.

Peppermint is also excellent for diffusing on its own or with compatible scents such as lavender, rosemary, spearmint, or sage!

  • It takes about a pound of peppermint plants to make one 15 ml bottle of Young Living essential oil.
  • Spiders don't like peppermint so we like to put about 20 drops in a small glass spray bottle and spray everywhere spiders like to come in the house.

HINT: Curious about how many ways this amazing oil can be used? Here are the Young Living oil proprietary BLENDS in which peppermint is a key ingredient: Relieve It™ and Deep Relief™ Roll-On.

Essential Oils Are Not Created Equally

This is an excellent time to mention that all oils are NOT created equally. I could go on and on with examples, but for now, “...per AFNOR/ISO standards, if an oil contains enough menthol, you can legally sell it as ‘peppermint' when, in fact, there may be no actual peppermint plant oil present whatsoever.”

This is huge. It means you could be buying a cheap oil that is labeled "100% pure," and it has no actual peppermint in it at all.

You may want to print this email so you can refer back to it. You'll get another email from me in a few days, but for now, I want you to have time to play with peppermint oil.

If you think peppermint is awesome, just WAIT until you see the host of things your other oils will do in your life!

Always keep ALL essential oils out of reach of children who might be too young to understand that these oils are very powerful.  Please treat all essential oils with respect and care as you would with anything else that you are supposed to keep safely away from children.  I would suggest locking them up or keeping them well out of reach until your children or grandchildren are old enough to understand how to use them properly.
