Midnight Meltdown

My husband and I are so blessed.

Our two granddaughters ages 4 and 2, come spend one night with us every week.  We play hide & seek, have tea parties, read books, and in general just devote our evening to enjoying these two beautiful souls.

Most nights are uneventful, but on occasion one of the girls (usually the 2 year old) wakes through the night for one reason or another.  Let's face it, we know which one of us is losing sleep--it's Grammie, just like when we were raising her dad and uncles.  But on this night it was the 4 year old, which was unusual.

She was crying and needing to use the restroom.  Okay, that happens sometimes when you drink a little too much water before bed.  No big deal, right!?  Except that after, she just kept crying--you know, the kind of crying that really tired children do, complete with yawns and sobs that no amount of consoling will calm.

On my bathroom counter is a tray of everyday oils I keep at the ready for just such an occasion.

Not that I anticipate holding crying children in my bathroom on a regular basis, but they are handy just the same for whatever reason I might need to use them.  I reached over and grabbed a bottle of Peace & Calming.

This little oil is a blend of Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, and Blue Tansy.  It's best known for it's calming properties for both children and adults.  It's one I will often use in my diffuser at bedtime to help promote a calming, relaxing night's sleep.

I opened the lid and invited her to breathe in.

Immediately she stopped crying and rested her head on my chest.  We cuddled there a little longer just enjoying the aroma from the open bottle.

I confess, after years of successfully using essential oils for various needs, even I was impressed with how quickly that little bottle of plant juice calmed this crying child.  We walked back to her room, where she climbed the ladder to her bunk and nestled in under the covers.  Peace at last.  Sweet dreams precious one.

How have you used Peace & Calming?

I just completed a rather large document for training purposes. I used Word Document as a writing tool. The writing tool actually tags every spelling error, phonetical error, proper verb usage and corrects any grammatical error as well. I had over 250 errors within the document, but Word Document (from Microsoft Word) corrected every error within about 20 minutes, as I went through the document. It gave me peace of mind of spelling and correct grammar as I edited the document. I loved your story about you and you and your granddaughter. The descriptions and emotions added much to your story. Can I suggest just a word switch for you PEACE AND CALMING? How about CALMING PEACE? It gives the "flavor of peace". Just a thought.🤗
