I have always been interested in learning about the human body, but one area has been my focus lately as I try to understand my daughters............ emotions! I am continually amazed at how each of my daughters reacts to conflict, praise, and challenges, just to name a few. As I have dived deeper into the subject of emotions, I cannot ignore the fact that each of us has our very own unique perspectives and personalities. Life experiences, how we were raised, personal preferences, and personalities are all components of us. They help shape our views, create a framework for making decisions, and I'm sure there are others that I have not even thought of yet!
So, let's dive into personalities, shall we? Back when I was a public school teacher, we had a training on the 4 color personalities. I have never, ever been impacted with a teacher training before the way that I was on that day. I don't even remember the other trainings, but this one really spoke to me. We took a quiz to learn our color personality, and then broke into teams to complete a task. There are lots of possible color tests out there with even some variation in the colors used. For our purposes, I will stick to the 4 colors that I learned about in that training so long ago. For more info on the company, check them out here.

People with Blue personalities are very connected to their emotions and the emotions of others. They often work in the arts or in careers helping others, like education. They need room for flexibility, imagination, and compassion in their lives. They want deep, connected relationships where they feel heard and adored. They are the friend who listens and does thoughtful things for others. Labrador Retrievers remind me of this personality type.

People with Green personalities are all about knowledge and logic. They can't make sense of emotions and prefer to lead with their head rather than their heart. They are problem solvers. They are inventive and analytical, inspired by challenges. Border Collies remind me of this type of personality.

People with Gold personalities are loyal and dependable. They tend to have traditional, conservative views. They are caring and helpful, often model citizens in a society. These types of people want to follow the rules and adapt well to their surroundings. When I think of this personality type, I'm reminded of Golden Retrievers.

People with Orange personalities are spontaneous and adventurous. They are bold and optimistic, often the ones performing and thrive on competition. They get bored with repetition and need plans to be flexible. They are impulsive and love to have fun. Huskies remind me of this color personality.
