There is a vast difference of Essential Oils on the market today, especially in the U.S., where labeling laws are quite loose and claims on labels can be deceiving.  It’s very important to know your source!

I love Amazon and use it for many purchases in my household.  I enjoy bargain hunting for good deals and like that I have choices.  However, I have learned that finding a good bargain for Essential Oils may not be such a good idea.  Why is that?

Well, the FDA says that a manufacturer can include as little as 5-10% Essential Oils in a bottle, in order to label it as “100% Pure Essential Oil”.  The rest of the bottle can be a filler ingredient, which may, or may not be good for you.  It can even be grown organically and labeled “100% Pure Organic Essential Oil”.  This does not mean that the oil in the bottle still contains all the health constituents from the original plant, which can be lost during the distillation process.  If the plant is not carefully harvested at the right time (when it achieves full ripeness with all it’s wonderful health benefits) and if the plant is not safely and carefully distilled at the right time, temperature and pressure, the plant will lose it’s precious gifts of healing constituents and have little benefits beyond aroma.

This is the main focus of Young Living Essential Oils, and they’ve been cultivating this process for over 25 years!  Young Living owns it’s farms and carefully overseas it’s partner farms, to ensure this process is done consistently at all locations.  Did you know that their oils are carefully distilled and processed in only glass and stainless steel containers to ensure the integrity of their oils?

If you’d like to see for yourself, take a trip to the Young Living Farm in Mona, Utah, like I did,  or go to any of their other 11 farms across the globe, and view the entire process of Seed to Seal for yourself.
