Get rid of stinky pit odors from your shirts with this easy DIY spray!
One of the downsides of using natural deodorant is sometimes it leaves a stinky stink in certain fabrics that’s challenging to wash out- even when using our favorite Thieves Laundry Soap. This is a problem in our home, especially in the summer when we sweat more, and after a vigorous workout in our gym clothes.
I’ve been experimenting to find a solution to remove the stank out of the pits of my shirts, and...... I finally came up with a solution that..... WORKS 🙌🏻

Stinky Stink Laundry Pretreat DIY Spray
What you’ll need:
- 10 oz - 16 oz sprayer bottle (or repurpose an empty thieves household cleaner bottle by adding a sprayer top)
- Digize essential oil
- Thieves Household Cleaner
- Water (distilled or filtered)
Directions:
Add 1.5 capfuls (or 1.5 tbsp) of Thieves Household Cleaner into the sprayer then add 30 drops of Digize essential oil. Top with filtered or distilled water. Thoroughly spray the armpit area of your turned inside-out shirts right before washing them.

TIP- I spray this into the armpit areas of my garments a few minutes before actually washing the garment in the washing machine.
- I DO NOT spray my garments and then leave the garments to sit inside my hamper for days or even hours ahead of time- I personally don't recommend it because I feel there is a slight possibility that the essential oils in the Digize and Thieves cleaner may lighten that area of the shirt if it sits on the garments for an extended period of time.
- Be mindful of delicate fabrics. At the time of writing this post, I have only used this spray on cotton and polyester fabrics and it has worked well for me with these fabrics. **I have NOT tried or used this recipe on silk, linen, or rayon.
- I personally add several drops of either digize, purification, or lemongrass essential oil onto my wool dryer balls and dry my clothes on the low setting in the dryer.
