Essential Oil Bath Salts Bulk Recipe for Make and Takes
I was a vendor at a Charity Gala event and was asked to hand out 200 samples of bath salts.
To save on costs, I searched for a more cost-effective yet attractive container and found Mylar pouches to be the perfect solution.

Since I never used these before, it was hard to figure out what size I needed for 1/2 cup-2/3 cup of the salts since I feel that is sufficient for one bath, and this is a free sample.  After buying 2 sizes, I found the 4" x 6" was the perfect size for my make and take (about the size of a Capri Sun juice pouch).

The photo is of the finished result! The pouches have between 4.5 - 5.0 ounces (about 2/3 cup) of bath salts in the pouch (recipe below) - I also filled one of the pouches completely full and then weighed it to find out how much these pouches hold- which was 6oz of the bath salts. The pouch opening is very small so I found it easiest to fill them using a funnel and a scoop (purchased at Dollar Tree).

I made a label and info card on Vistaprint and am excited to hand these out!

I can't wait to use these for so many other things- these are great for handing out samples, for your DIY gifts, etc...
Just so ya know, I earn a small commission for purchases made through links in this post.

I ordered these Mylar pouches on Amazon which had the best price I could find for quantity 200:
4x6 mylar bags (200 count)- they also offer these in 100 count. https://amzn.to/2HHdLAn

Bath Salts Recipe

(to make in bulk)

  1. Mix these three ingredients together.
  2. Scoop into each Mylar Pouch and add 4-5 drops of Essential Oil of your choice directly onto the salts
  3. Seal the bag by zip lock or using a heat seal and give it a gentle shake to distribute the oils into the salts (I like using Stress Away or Lavender essential oils for my Make and Take Bath Salts).
This recipe makes approx. 80-100 pouches (with approx. 4.5-5.0 oz of bath salts per pouch)

My favorite essential oils for this recipe are using  one  of these oil choices per each packet:

Don't forget to give the recipient the instructions!

(add this info on a card along with your contact information!)

Pour the entire packet into a warm bath.  Soak for at least 20 minutes to relieve sore, tired muscles and to experience the soothing benefits.

Add a Label!

Finish off your product by adding a label to your Mylar Bags.  Here are some I recommend, or you can create your own on Vista Print!
