The great thing is that Lemon Essential Oil is probably already a staple in your collection. Naturally, it smells tart, refreshing, and soulfully bright, but now I use it everywhere ...and for everything. I'll explain.

I may not have realized what a powerhouse Lemon Essential Oil truly is before I began looking into different ways to use it beyond the diffuser. Learning how Lemon provides the tough muscle to any household mess has allowed me to ditch the harsh products once commonly thought to help, and instead carry around just one of my favorite scents in a bottle. There's nothing but shining surfaces and solutions in my wake. It takes the phrase "I have an oil for that!" to a new level.

1.  Tough crayon on the wall? Not a problem anymore! Buff away the marks with a few drops of Lemon Essential Oil on a cloth. Please test a small, inconspicuous area of your wall to ensure no interference with your paint before trying this, just to be safe.

2. Do your linens smell like "closet" or "drawer"? It happens to us all sometimes in those small spaces. Quickly infuse your linens with a burst of clean citrus by adding 5-8 drops to a dryer ball and tumble dry with no heat. This is also great to pair with Lavender Essential Oil for sheets and pillowcases since the Lavender and Lemon make a memorable duo for guests.

3. Dreaming of stainless steel without constant handprints? Add three drops of Lemon to a lightly damp cloth and then polish to perfection. It offers a glowy shine and the lingering smell of freshly squeezed lemons is sure to spark compliments. 

4. Use a few drops of Lemon to dissolve pesky stickers, tacky residue, and marks on shoes or toys. This also works for chalk pens, floor scuffs, and permanent marker on glassware.

5. Gum, rubber bands, or toy slime in hair? Just 1-2 drops of Lemon Essential Oil will work it out faster (and smell better) than the forgotten ice cube or peanut butter methods! Don't try to comb through anything sticky or stubborn. The Lemon will melt the mess right out of the strands and can be efficiently washed out in the shower. This is especially true with tight rubber bands. Don't risk cutting the hair along with the rubberband, since a single drop of lemon will cause the band to snap instantly, with no scissors required. 

6. If you don't have the Thieves Household Cleaner yet, you can still battle a greasy stovetop or splotchy microwave with a mixture containing about 10 drops of Lemon, 1 cup of white vinegar, and about a cup of water. Spray those greasy surfaces, wait a couple of minutes to allow it to soak and remove stains, then wipe clean. Last week's chili stain on the white microwave interior is no match for this powerful homemade cleaning spray.
