Why Am I So Tired?

I feel like I could literally just fall asleep standing! Do you ever feel like that? Well that is a major clue that your body is missing something and needs your immediate attention.  As much as I’d like to spend my day on the couch napping or binge watching NetFlix, I have a life to live and obligations to fulfill.

So what do I do?

Well first I look for the cause. What are my clues?

I took a squirt of CBD yesterday for pre-public-speaking-nerves on top of some ovulation cramping ….which means I slept GREAT, and I actually got a full 8 hours. So lack of sleep is ruled out.

Aw, but those nerves I had yesterday are a clue! Along with the nasty BO I woke up with (it was gross).

I could totally be suffering from adrenal fatigue today. Those nerves and the stress I was feeling yesterday caused my adrenals to pump out a lot of adrenaline during the many panic attacks I was having. Which means my adrenals worked a lot harder than normal. The BO was a result of my body flushing out those extra stress hormones.

But there’s another clue!

According to my Billings Ovulation Method® Chart, which helps me track my signs and symptoms of fertility and infertility, I’m in the fertile phase of my reproductive cycle (I like to call this my feminine genius).

The ovulation process uses up huge amounts of ATP (energy) stores. That could totally be another cause to my extreme, zombie-like fatigue today.

So, based on my understanding of how the body works that clued me in to the CAUSE of my complaints, I now know how to SUPPORT my body moving forward with today.

While most people will just down a pot of coffee and move on with their day, this is like putting a piece of tape over the check engine light of your vehicle and calling the problem solved. At some point, things are going to break down and probably at a larger scale than if you had fixed the original problem in the first place.

Much like my husband likes to be proactive with our family’s vehicle maintenance, changing oil frequently and such, I choose to take a proactive approach to my family’s health; staying ahead of the game before things become bigger problems.

My tools for today:

Ningxia Nitro™

I could totally just down a tube of Nitro™ to get me through my day and call it good, but because I see a bigger picture happening in the clues my body is giving me, I’m going to take it further than just some energizing B-vitamins and a natural caffeine boost. Nitro™ is much more than that, but I also need much more than it right now. Nonetheless, Nitro™ is one of my fave go-to’s for a healthy pick-me-up and mental clarity. It has a long list of whole-food ingredients that are energizers and brain food, and it'll get me going right away.

OmegaGizeᶾ™

Omega-3’s are great for many things, support to your ovaries are one of them. But this supplement also includes CoQ10 which the body converts to ATP which is energy. As I stated above, the process of ovulation uses up large amounts of ATP stores, as do panic attacks I’m sure, so replenishing that store seems like a logical step to me. CoQ10 also offers support to the healing and proper function of the adrenals. The D3 in OmegaGize is also needed for healthy hormones and a good mood. I took 3 in the morning, 2 this afternoon.

FemiGen™

Is an herbal mix that loves on, and feeds, the feminine genius. Its entire formulation is exactly what my body needs right now. I took 2 of these today and will continue to take two each day until I’m through ovulation.

EndoGize™

EndoGize™ checks a lot of the boxes for both adrenal support and reproductive health. It has Ashwaganda, the right kind of protein, DHEA, L-arginine, and a host of other good stuff in it. It's a real winner for me today.

Super B™

This B-complex blend is what I used as a boost in the afternoon. B-vitamins play a big role in energy, focus, mood, hormones, and water usage, and Super B™ has a bunch of them!

NingXia Red™

NingXia Red™ juice to fill in any nutritional gaps and minerals I’m missing and support the detox pathways. In case you missed the connection earlier, that BO clue was caused by stress sweat. Stress sweat is your body’s way of flushing out the extra cortisol and adrenaline, along with any other toxins hanging around in your lymph at the time. NingXia Red™ is also extremely high in Vitamin C with bioflavanoids, which is good support for healing and proper function of the adrenals. I spread 6 oz of this power house throughout my day.

Get Moving

I groan at myself even just typing that. But it’s true! Action creates energy, and exercise does all that good stuff for us, including releasing happy hormones, supporting healthy blood sugar levels, which is also supportive to your hormonal balance, and leaves you feeling more energized.

However….

I want to honor my body’s request for rest right now too, so today is not the day for high intensity workouts. Today, I take the kids for a walk. I spend some time outside with the animals (the farm animals, not my kids. We live on a farm). Enjoyable, relaxing, movement.

Life is not so bad when you have the right tools stay on your game! A little bit of self care and I’m on my way to slay the day! So next time you have a physical symptom of any kind, don’t just run to the nearest band-aid to cover it up. Dig deeper. Find the cause and support and nourish instead of ignore and regret.
