Unpaper Towels Reusable Cloths Repurpose Young Living Cardboard Tube

Don't run out of paper towels again when you switch to using reusable cloths instead!

I found a new way to repurpose the bigger (wider) YL tubes! I prefer to use reusable cloths over paper towels. Today I took my microfiber cloths -that I usually fold and keep in a drawer, and rolled them around the tube, and put the tube onto my paper towel holder! It works great!

During Covid-19, it became hard, if not impossible to find paper products such as paper towels.  I was never a big paper towel user, but because they weren't available to purchase brought on a bit of a panic. (along with toilet paper but I have yet to discover a sanitary and reusable toilet paper- that's just one thing I'm not ready to do).

During times of crisis, its fun to get creative, right?  So here's a great solution that not only helps the environment, but it saves you money in the long run AND offers a great alternative to a useful product.

Ditch the throw-away paper towels and start using reusable washable cloths instead!

I still use paper towels when handling meat, but for everything else like spills, cleaning countertops, wiping messy hands, cleaning my stove, doorknobs, windows, you name it- I use washable and reusable microfiber cloths along with my all-natural, plant-based Thieves Household Cleaner (check it out here: Thieves All Purpose Household Cleaner)

You can make your own cloths or buy them- I found that using cotton flannel or microfiber fabric works the best because they “stick to each other” and stay on the roll.  To add your cloths to the roll, simply stack your cloths in a neat pile then roll the tube up and around the first cloth.  Then bring the tube back down to the place where you started and repeat, moving in the same direction.  Repeat until all cloths are on the roll.

Young Living tubes come in a variety of sizes.  The cardboard tube I used is one of the wider tubes with an approx. 1.5" width opening, and is approx. 10 inches in length.  The microfiber cloths that I used are 13" in length.  I'm ok with the overlap, but if that bothers you, you might want to find some cloths (or make your own!) that fit the length of the tube you'll use.

These make GREAT GIFTS!!

Young Living is striving to go zero waste.  We can do our part by reusing the packaging that comes in our boxes.  I've found many creative uses to repurpose packaging products.  I'm excited to use these as housewarming gifts, and as "just because" gifts!  So easy, and so very practical!

If you need to buy some cloths to make your own Unpaper towel rolls, might I suggest the following cloths?  Please know that I receive a small commission for any purchases made through clicking on these links.  Thank you!
